Race 8 - Irish National Championships

Aug 12
On the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of August I was at home competing in the Irish Champ's over 200m. It went well, winning the title in very windy conditions. I enjoy running over 200m, I dont always get the chance to do it, and having raced in Barcelona and in Monaco a few days before the Champ's, the opportunity was there to run over the shorter distance.

It was a great weekend and a chance to get home and see friends and family. I said to my brother to have my niece and godchild Caitlin ready for me to grab when I cross the line, the plan was that we would get her into the paper, and we did, it was in the sunday tribune!

Also, I got in the Dublin Vs Kerry game, what a waste of time that was! I got tickets courtesy of my sponsors Toyota, good day out, I always enjoy going to Croker, and I brought my English girlfriend, she didnt have a clue what was going on on the pitch, so had to keep informing her of the rules etc. I also told her to bring her passport and keep her mouth shut when walking in, as they may not let her in to Croker as shes English!!!

Ok, the Dub's were useless, to me they just looked fat and slow, didnt really seem up for it! But Kerry were good, and got off to a great start and didnt look back!

One highlight of the day was meeting Niall Quinn. I have met him a few times before, but he is always a gent. No airs or graces about him and doesnt think he is above anyone, I admire that!! The girlfriend is from Sunderland so she was dying to meet him! Then she wrecked my head all evening going on about how great he is!

All in all it was great to back home for a few days. I caught up with the lads and had a pint or two and got the low down about all the heads around Ballinteer. Spent time with the family and had a day out in Glendalough!!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
